The information required from a seller is limited and straightforward.

If the seller is an individual, the seller must provide their full legal name and address and be identified as the transferor in the transaction.

If the seller is an entity or a trust, the seller must provide the legal name of the entity or trust, its business or mailing address, and the type of entity or trust. Seller beneficial ownership information, tax identification numbers, citizenship, and source-of-funds information are not required under the rule.
