This Thanksgiving, we are honored to share a story from within our Sun Title family that reflects the heart of what this season is all about.
In 2018, Chrystal joined the national stem cell registry through NMDP, wanting to help if she was ever a match for someone in need.
This year, Chrystal received the news that she was a match for a 43-year-old woman battling leukemia. She completed the full screening process, moved forward with the donation, and recently gave the stem cells that could help restore this patient’s health and strength.

When we asked Chrystal about the experience, she shared two reflections that stayed with us.
“I would definitely encourage others to consider it. The discomfort I went through doesn’t compare to what the recipient is going through.”
And:
“This whole process made me appreciate my body and how magical it is. I have a new respect for the gift it is to be healthy.”
Last Friday, the Grand Rapids Griffins recognized Chrystal during the game in the spirit of Thanksgiving, celebrating her courage and generosity. We could not be prouder to see her honored in front of the community.

As we head into the holiday, Chrystal story reminds us of the ways people choose to show up for one another. One simple decision can open the door to hope for someone in need.
If you feel inspired to learn more about joining the registry, you can visit NMDP at www.nmdp.org.
From all of us at Sun Title, we are grateful for teammates like Chrystal and for the countless acts of kindness that strengthen our community every day.
